Habitat for Humanity believes everyone should have an affordable, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. To date, Habitat Anderson has helped more than 70 low-income households achieve affordable homeownership.

Our Impact

The impact of homeownership goes beyond shelter. It has positive effects on financial stability, educational outcomes, health, safety and community involvement.

Children of homeowners have improved scholastic achievement are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college. Homeowners are more likely to vote and be engaged in civic and community activities. They report being healthier and feeling safer. They see positive changes in their finances and personal growth. Families also say they get along better and spend more time together.

Overwhelmingly, Habitat homeowners feel appreciative, a sense of pride and would recommend others participate in the Habitat for Humanity experience.

Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County offers an opportunity for families with low income to attain homeownership. The homes we build are sold to the partner household with an interest-free mortgage. Click here for program eligibility guidelines.

 

Time and time again, our community has demonstrated its generosity through countless hours of volunteering. This collective effort means that, against all odds, many families have achieved homeownership.

 

Merchandise, such as furniture, home décor and building supplies, is donated by homeowners and businesses in the community. Proceeds from these sales help support our mission to build stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
