About Us

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian housing ministry, which partners with people to build simple, decent houses. These houses are sold to qualified buyers at no profit and typically with a 20-year, interest-free mortgage. Habitat is able to offer this opportunity because of support from the community, local churches, and businesses. Habitat builds houses where there is available land. The need for adequate and safe housing is great. Habitat for Humanity cannot serve everyone who would like to become a homeowner, so it is necessary to choose carefully and wisely.

Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with God’s people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which God’s people can live and grow into all that God intended.

History

Millard and Linda Fuller founded Habitat for Humanity International in 1976. The organization has helped more than 150,000 families in need build or rehabilitate their homes. Habitat is now recognized all over the world for helping low income families who need homes.
